Disposal by Massmart of non-core assets to Shoprite
Massmart announced the sale of the following non-core businesses to Shoprite Supermarkets:
the Rhino Cash and Carry and Cambridge Food businesses, the Fruitspot business and Massfresh Meat businesses and 12 Masscash Cash and Carry stores. The maximum disposal consideration for the businesses is R1,36bn, payable in cash.

Fairvest Property internalisation of management company
Fairvest Property announced it is to ask shareholders to approve the internalisation of its asset management function. The asset management of Fairvest is outsourced to New Star Asset Management. The company proposes to acquire all the issued share capital from Manco shareholders for an aggregate cash consideration of R133 million.
